One day I might try to write what life is really like on an Australian outback station. This just didn't get the feel right.It didn't get the taste of dust in your mouth, the irritation of flies and the never ending concern about rain. It didn't get the feeling of distance just between the front gate and the house. The dilapidated sheds with the rusted out tractors.The raucous sound of crows and other birds, the brilliant sky at sunset. The brown snake slithering away as the car drives up.THe Aussie cattle dogs lolling in the shade waiting for something interesting to happen.
