What a great story. It had me enthralled from beginning to end. So much depth within the intricate world building, yet also a satisfying tale about love. Love between individuals and love for country.Once again, as I read, my thoughts skittered to places like Afghanistan and Iraq. To countries under the rule of foreigners or their puppets who don't and won't understand their customs. To countries that find it difficult to rule themselves to the benefit of all their people. This is also a tale about duty and the personal cost of that duty. When the second book "Law of Vengeance" is published, be prepared for this book to be even better as the next one backtracks over a lot of the material covered from the viewpoint of Lord Carle.
